Embiid pulled down 13 rebounds and had three assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +1 in his 26:57 on the floor. He added one block.
Analysis: Sixers coach Brett Brown denied that Embiid was on a strict minutes restriction of 16 minutes, and with good reason. Embiid played 26:57 and notched his 10th double-double in 32 career games. Philly plays back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, so it will be interesting to see how much Embiid plays in those.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the contract has not been officially announced. The person said Embiid and the Sixers have agreed on a $148 million, five-year extension and it could reach even more if the 7-foot center reaches certain incentives.
Analysis: Embiid's career has been riddled with injuries dating to his college career at Kansas and all three seasons with the Sixers. Embiid, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft, played only 31 games last season and had surgery in March to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. He was only recently cleared to participate in 5-on-5 drills but the Sixers must feel confident enough in his health to offer him the max deal.

Analysis: Embiid sat out Philadelphia's preseason opener on Wednesday and won't play against Boston on Friday. The Sixers are hopeful Embiid will be in the lineup on opening night.

Analysis: The good news is that Embiid will still take part in some drills and activity and the 76ers expect him to be ready for the Oct. 18 season opener. The injury-plagued center will be a fantasy factor whenever he's healthy and on the court, but owners should still count on the team monitoring his minutes throughout the season.
