(AP) -- The Chicago Cubs are hoping the production from the rookie tandem of Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler in the series opener in Pittsburgh is a sign of things to come.
The Cubs could certainly use repeat performances from the two Tuesday night given their teammates struggles against the Pirates' Francisco Liriano.
Bryant seems to have found his groove at the plate since going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts in his debut. He is 6 for 10 in three contests since with two doubles, four RBIs, four walks and one strikeout. He had a tiebreaking two-run double in the seventh inning in Monday's 5-2 win and finished with three hits and three RBIs.
