Aug. 26 1:10 PM PT2:10 PM MT3:10 PM CT4:10 PM ET9:10 PM GMT5:10 AM 北京时间-Perez has patellar tendinitis in his right knee and will undergo season-ending surgery, the Mets announced Wednesday afternoon. Analysis: Team medical director Dr. David Atlchek examined Perez Wednesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The Mets expect Perez to be ready for spring training, according to their official Web site. Perez, 28, was 3-4 with a 6.82 ERA in 14 starts for the Mets. He spent more than two months on the disabled list with an identical injury earlier this season. |
Aug. 24 11:39 AM PT12:39 PM MT1:39 PM CT2:39 PM ET7:39 PM GMT3:39 AM 北京时间-Perez failed to get out of the first inning in Sunday's 9-7 loss against visiting Philadelphia and was pulled after throwing three straight balls to former Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez. He gave up three-run homers to Jayson Werth and Carlos Ruiz, and alllowed four hits and two walks. Perez was soundly booed as he walked off the field having thrown 47 pitches - 20 strikes - and getting just two outs. Analysis: The Mets probably regret choosing Perez (3-4, 6.82 ERA) over Martinez in the off-season and the three-year, $36 million they gave the right-hander. Perez could bounce back Friday against the struggling Chicago Cubs, but he's 0-3 with a 6.39 ERA in his last six starts versus Chicago. |

Analysis: Perez is having a difficult start to the season, going 1-2 with a 9.31 ERA. He's shown some bright spots, striking out 18 in 19 1-3 innings. However, he hasn't been consistent enough and if he continues to struggle, he could be moved to the bullpen. Monitor the developments. |
