Analysis: The 35-year-old Tatis, who plays all four infield positions and the corner outfield spots, gives the Mets additional depth at first base in case they don't re-sign Carlos Delgado. Tatis hit .282 with eight homers and 48 RBIs in 340 at-bats for the injury-ravaged Mets last season.

Analysis: Tatis also hit a grand slam at Citi Field on May 13. Mets C Omir Santos has the only other slam at the new ballpark. Tatis got off to a strong start this season, but his average is down to .243.
