Analysis: Sanchez, cut last Friday when the Jets signed Michael Vick, posted a link to the letter on his Twitter page on Monday. He says there were "some tough times, but mostly good times," highlighting the consecutive trips to the AFC championship game in his first two seasons in 2009 and 2010. Sanchez, drafted fifth overall in 2009, is a free agent who missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. He is expected to be ready in time for training camp, and Philadelphia and St. Louis are among the teams believed to have interest.

Analysis: The Sanchez move comes as no surprise. He spent this past season on injured reserve after injuring his right shoulder in a preseason game, clearing the way for rookie Geno Smith to start every game. Sanchez tore the labrum in his right shoulder in the Jets' third preseason game against the Giants and needed surgery to repair it in October. He had three years remaining on his contract, but his $13.1 million salary cap number for next season made it unlikely the team would keep him at that amount.
