PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) Washington State fell behind No. 15 Arizona 31-0 early in the second quarter, and coach Mike Leach said his team then tried to do the impossible.
"I think we went out there and tried to score 14 points every play," Leach said. "We should have tried to focus a little more on just throwing a completion."
Arizona, plagued recently by slow starts, came out strong and beat Washington State 59-37 on Saturday.
